Histroy

JK MAASS Foundation was started in the year 2001. Since then we have changed the life of number of Children with Cerebral Palsy. There have been many achievements along our path. The impact of the achievements are motivating us to do more services

2001
The foundation was started by Dr.J.Sudhakaran in the name of his parent to regularize all the services he was rendering to the person with disability.

2002

This year a survey was conducted to identify the person with disability and the rehabilitation service they are availing. Several awareness camps were organized to educate people on disability rehabilitation

2003
The rehabilitation service rendered to people in rural area by home based visit. In urban area around five children among the identified were given rehabilitation service.

2004

The day care rehabilitation centre named “Able Kids” was started to render rehabilitation service to the children affected by Cerebral Palsy. Qualified professionals appointed. Around 15 children with Cerebral Palsy were given more specialized rehabilitation service.

2005
This year the main focus is on raising awareness in Disability Rehabilitation. Several Awareness and Assessment camps were conducted during this year.
2006
In a view of identifying the disability at its early stage is mostly half way in its recovery, the foundation has also started an “Early intervention centre” named “Sooryodhayam” for the children in the age group of 0-8 yrs in the year 2006. Here the main focus is on Early identification, various therapeutic interventions and parental counseling and training.

A physiotherapy unit for out patient named “JK Physiotherapy Hospital and Research centre” was also started this year. This caters the needs of people in both rural and urban areas with different physical ailments.

2007
Vazhnthukaattuvom is a project for poverty eradication and empowerment of rural disable community. This project is implemented by State Government of Tamilnadu supported by World Bank. JK MAASS Foundation is the Block Development Facilitation Agency in Muthukulathur Block, Ramnad District, Tamilnadu, India. This block includes 43 pachayaths comprising of 180 villages.
